Crispy Air Fried Tofu

Don't need corn flour to make this crispy and delicious tofu recipe! This vegan air fried tofu tastes right from the deep fryer (while being much lower in fat).

This is a puzzle that every eater knows at some point ... "HOW do I get to know I'm crunchy ??" Because anyone who knows what the wonders of crispy tofu will also understand the turmoil never get to know you correctly.

Alright no more, friends! I have unlocked the secret to incredible crispy tofu ... air frying pan!

What is frying air? Good question: basically cooking food is really hot with air, so the outside of your food becomes crispy (like fried) (but with a little fat). We have served fried potatoes and fried "chicken" and avocados and now ... we know.

WHAT YOU NEED TO MAKE A CRFI TOFU
There are two main components to this crispy tofu: tofu (duh), and marinade.

Tofu: Use extra hard tofu, which has more water squeezed than soft or silk varieties. Less water = more crisp!
Soy Sauce: Soybeans (or tamari without gluten) add to the rich and salty taste that increases your level of knowledge.
Oil: We will use a mixture of sesame / olive oil to add flavor and increase crispness. I would not recommend cutting the oil completely, but you can use oil that can be sprayed if you want to reduce fat.
Garlic: I use this for a quick and simple taste in seasoning. Feel crazy about it and mix your own spices or spices!
Machine tofu: You want to remove water from your tofu before cooking it. I like the press to know this (although you can also use a heavy pan).


INGREDIENTS
  • 1 16-oz block extra-firm tofu 453 g
  • 2 Tbsp soy sauce 30 mL
  • 1 Tbsp toasted sesame oil * 15 mL
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil 15 mL
  • 1 clove garlic minced
INSTRUCTIONS

Press: Tofu press for at least 15 minutes, using either a tofu press or by setting a heavy pan on top of it, letting the moisture drain. When finished, cut into bite-sized blocks and transfer to a bowl.

Flavor: Combine all remaining ingredients in a small bowl. Drizzle over tofu and toss to coat. et tofu marinate for an additional 15 minutes.

Air Fry: Preheat your air fryer to 375 degrees F (300 C). Add tofu blocks to your air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook for 10 to 15 minutes, shaking the pan occasionally to promote even cooking.
